I work on the dynamics of recurrent spiking neural networks. In particular, I am interested in the question of the extent to which stimulus-selectivity in single neurons requires a learning algorithm, or if stimulus selective neurons can also emerge spontaneously from the endogenous dynamics of the innate network architecture.
