The Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences: From Vision to Impact

Impact Report

“What we at ELSC develop and discover today is destined to transform tomorrow’s society.”
Israel Nelken, Co-director, The Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences

Established in 2009, ELSC has become one of the world’s leading institutes for neuroscience. Now that ELSC is in its adolescence, we have many interesting stories to share. In our 2021 Impact Report, we look back at the transformations we underwent; introduce you to some of our outstanding faculty members, students and alumni; and present our vision for the future. This report was written amidst a year of great global challenges. ELSC’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, including our development of scientific innovations to assist with national pandemic relief efforts, is another testament to the excellent research and warm community that has been nurtured here over the last decade.
