After finishing medical studies at the Medical University of Warsaw I became graduate student of the International Max Planck Research School for Infectious Diseases and Immunology (IMPRS-IDI) and International Medical Neurosciences Graduate School in Berlin. I graduated in 2017 as MD/PhD from the Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin with the thesis “Impact of the gut microbiota on the outcome after experimental stroke” (summa cum laude, supervision: Prof. Ulrich Dirnagl). Before joining the ELSC I have worked one year as postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Experimental Neurology at the Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin in the group of Prof. Andreas Meisel investigating the interplay between the brain and the immune system after stroke.
Research interests: clinical neuroscience, stroke, small noncoding RNAs, brain-body communication, immune response after CNS injury, gut microbiome
