Benne Praegel
After receiving my Bachelor degree in Psychology and Neuroscience at Maastricht University in 2017, I chose to continue my academic career with a Master degree in Cognitive Neurobiology and Clinical Neurophysiology at the University of Amsterdam. My main goal is to gain further insights into sensory experiences and perception. I am interested in the unique properties of our brain that allow us to react to these specific modalities. As the plasticity of these modalities is still unclear, my goal is to understand the how sensory experiences, like hearing, are changed after learning. To achieve this, my main focus of investigation are the neuroplastic changes that accompany learned associations. In particular, my works spotlight are the neuroplastic changes in the primary auditory cortex, which together with Dr. Ido Maor I will investigate through the use of electrophysiological recordings in mice.
