Congratulations to Dr. David Lipton for winning the Shimon Peres Postdoctoral Fellowship for 2023

ELSC congratulates Dr. David Lipton for receiving the Shimon Peres Postdoctoral Fellowship for 2023.

Dr. Lipton studied neuroscience at Stanford University.

Dr. Lipton is a postdoctoral researcher in the lab of Prof. Ami Citri. He recently wrote a comprehensive literature review about the striatum and its role in the development of habits, compulsions, and addiction. The review was published in the journal Frontiers in Systems Neuroscience, and garnered significant attention from the community. Dr. Lipton is developing a novel and exciting approach to studying the role of the striatum in action selection. This project has the potential to address fundamental questions regarding the functional organization of the brain and the selection of behavioral output.

The prestigious Shimon Peres Postdoctoral Fellowship was established through a gift from Safra Foundation.
