Heller Lecture Series in Computational Neuroscience
Prof. Henry Markram

On the topic of:
The inevitability of Brain Simulations
Abstract:
In this talk I will present how simulation science has transformed many academic areas and how it is set to inevitably transform our understanding of the brain and its diseases. I will show how a digital brain can store humanities knowledge of the brain for future generations, how brain simulation complements experiment and theory to understand the brain, and how certain questions can only be answered by reconstructing and simulating the brain. The talk will end with a vision of what we could learn and how humanity will evolve when we can simulate any brain.
