My primary research interest is understanding information processing in living systems. In my PhD research, done at NCBS, India, I developed a mathematical model for the synthesis of glycans – molecules that carry the information of cell type identity. We showed that the requirement of producing a high fidelity distribution of glycans puts constraints on the synthesis machinery, in terms of the number of compartments, and number and specificity of enzymes. Prior to this, I did my undergrad (Master’s in Science) in Physics from University of Mumbai, India.

In ELSC, at Jonathan Kadmon’s lab, I am working on developing a theory to analyze the effects of network motifs and non-equilibrium driving on the dynamics of a network of neurons.
