I earned my Ph.D. at Emory University in the lab of Dr. Yoland Smith where I studies the microcircuitry of group II and III metabotropic glutamate receptors in primate and rodent animal models using light, fluorescent, and electron microscopy techniques. In the Bergman lab I’ve applied my knowledge of the basal ganglia to study the elesctrophysiological properties of cortical and basal ganglia networks during acute and chronic dopamine up-and down-regulation.
